Bohemian chic within 5 minutes

If you’re looking for a new and interesting decorating idea for your home, an easy idea is to create a design statement with your accessories at home. So today we’re going to bring some joie de vivre into your home by adding a little bit of bohemian style.

If the Scandinavian style is already a favourite of yours, the boho style is great if your want to throw in a bit more personality and visual interest. These no-sew pillows are probably just about the easiest thing you can make, whether you’ve got great sewing skills, none at all or like me, don’t really have the patience.

These no-sew pillows are probably just about the easiest thing you can make, whether you’ve got great sewing skills, none at all or like me, don’t really have the patience.

Choosing your rug is the best part! I’ve got my hands on these gorgeous, fluffy and eclectic rugs from MAALU MAALU. All rugs are handmade with surplus materials from the textile industry in Sri Lanka. So versatile, decorate your walls, the floor or try this project with these sustainable and recycled rugs.

Making an envelope closure pillow is super simple which makes it so easy for you, if you’d like to switch out your pillows seasonally. No zippers and fancy enclosures and this won’t take much more than 5 minutes to execute this no-sew project, sounds so good huh?

Supplies:

Rugs or and tapestries

Pillow insert

Fabric glue

Step 1

Apply fabric glue along all four edges on the wrong side of the rug

Step 2

Fold your rug and create an overlay (like pictured) this accommodates the overlay of the envelope closure.

Step 3

Once the glue is dry, stuff in your pillow and you’re done!

The casual look of these unique pillows will make you fall in love with the imperfections and the handcrafted touch. Furthermore, I love the idea of reducing the massive textile waste and how old fabrics will have new life and a whole new look, like these pretties.

It’s an easy way to instant freshen up your home. A fun way to showcasing the colours of the vibrant season and a great way to show some personality and change the feel of a room.

Now please share if you’ve got any creative ideas on how to create mini makeovers with recycled materials!

Hope you’ve been inspired to play with the boho-chic style at home! Happy weekend lovelies.
